I used to watch this cartoon short all the time when I was a kid. I think my dad had recorded it onto a VHS one night, but I had no idea this short was part of the several sequences combined to form "Melody Time" in 1948. Still, as I watched it today, I smiled at every heart that formed, chuckled at every flirtatious move that was made, and got chills at the climax of the tale. Something I found quite charming about this short is Mary Blair's artwork in the background of the short. It's so clean and simple, which I love. It helps highlight the sweet story and animation of this couple's very exciting winter date. This Disney classic is super gushy and lovey-dovey, so cuddle up with your sweetheart under a fleece blanket, get some hot cocoa, and press play!
