Picture
Toy Tinkers (1949)
Starring: Donald Duck and Chip ‘n Dale
Setting: Donald’s Country Home

Plot: Chip ‘n Dale follow Donald to his house after seeing him chop down a Christmas Tree and decide to break in and loot the place after spotting an assortment of nuts.

Stocking Stuffers:

I can only guess all those presents under Donald’s tree are for his “beloved” nephews...

Dale’s more playful nature is evident as he chooses to play with the toys while the more businesslike Chip’s concerns lie with gathering nuts.

When the phone explodes, a flesh coloured Mickey Mouse doll can be seen amongst the scattered gifts.

Alongside “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” this short offers a great contrast between Donald and Mickey as they deal with Chip ‘n Dale’s infestations in very different ways.

Putting a Bow on It:
Donald gets a bad rap for being an instigator and a bully but I think this short shows that he just wants to play… play rough, but play nonetheless.  He easily could’ve pulled the trigger on that pistol and blown Chip ‘n Dale to smithereens but he chose to lead them into the paddy wagon to keep the game going.  But contrary to “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” no friends have been made as the rodents
No, you're not crazy - Amy Melissa reviewed this short on the blog too.
