Mail Dog (1947)
Costarring: Flutterfoot the Rabbit
Setting: An Alaskan Outpost
Plot: Because of inclement weather, a mail plane cannot land and instead tasks a mail dog (Pluto) to make the delivery to Quagmire Airport.
Quagmire Airport must be a fictional location because a Google search yields no results.
I guessed Alaska for the locale since the furthest north Totem Poles commonly appear is in southeastern Alaska.
Flutterfoot the Rabbit’s only other appearance was in Primitive Pluto (1950).
Putting a Bow on It:
This is a story about isolation… cold, cold isolation and what happens when you have two irresistibly cute and cuddly forces wanting different things only to come together in the end. And, such is the case when Pluto is merely trying to get from point A to point B while Flutterfoot sees the only other living thing in the snow as a source for heat. In the end, they both get what they want and more as the pair find the companionship and warmth that was otherwise eluding them.
