Two days ago, I got a special request from an Instagram follower (by the way, she follows both the @AWaltzThroughDisney and @NoisyMerriment Instagrams – Hint! Hint!). After seeing the Peter Pan nursery prints, she suggested to bring the children’s nanny to life – the loving and caring, Nana, the dog.
I love Nana! One of the best sequences of the movie is at the very beginning, where Nana patiently cleans up after the boys and gets them ready for bed. She’s so precise and detail-oriented that she even makes sure the wooden blocks are in alphabetical order. Though we find the effort is all for not, since the boys and father keep knocking them over! When figuring out how to draw Nana, I wondered how long she had been with the Darling family. She looks like an older dog so I’m sure she had grown up with the eldest, Wendy. With that assumption, here she is, sleeping soundly with a young(er) Wendy, just as loving as always.
