As we prepare for the 2nd annual Waltz Through DisneyLAND, our competitors are inspiring new art from Amy Melissa! Our first team entered under the name Practically Perfect in Every Gay. Any Disney fan knows this is in reference to the classic 1964 film, Mary Poppins! I tend to draw from my favorite scenes in movies, and this is no different. "Chim Chim Cher-Ee" has got to be the best number of the musical. I even remember looking forward to it when the scene was part of the Disneyland parades! Did you know it won an Academy Award for Best Original Song? It's one of the most intense singing and dance numbers, and I can't wait to see it on stage. I used the red dress from the Broadway show as inspiration for the illustration of Mary. Practically Perfect in Every Gay is a team of three newbies to our competition! Let's see if they're ready for the big task of having the most fun at the Disney resort.
You can see photos from last year's teams here. Best of luck to all of this year's teams!
